As the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 buzzed with the latest advancements in AI, one gadget stood out amidst the sea of innovations: the Humane AI Pin. The device captured a lot of people’s attention with its ingenuity and practicality, and it is a device that anyone would want to try right away. It can project images or text on your hands, talk to you, perform tasks and click photos without a smartphone.

The Humane AI Pin is more than just a mere accessory; it’s a compact powerhouse of functionality. Designed as a small square that magnetically attaches to your jacket, it smoothly integrates AI into everyday life in a very easy manner. During the demonstration, I was quite surprised by its capabilities and how well it works without crashing.

What sets the Humane AI Pin apart is its ability to serve as a standalone device, independent of any phone or external hardware. With its own dedicated phone number, users can interact with it directly, enabling a myriad of capabilities with just a few simple commands. From translating languages to clicking photos to asking for locations, the Pin effortlessly handles a wide array of tasks with precision and speed. I was quite impressed by it.

I also liked its adaptive nature. The Pin learns and adapts to the user’s unique style of communication, enabling it to generate natural-sounding responses when sending messages to friends and family. This personalized touch adds a layer of sophistication and human-like interaction that is truly remarkable. It can talk to you in any language and one can even have real-time translations of different languages.

Interestingly, the Humane AI Pin can also be used to listen to songs and one of the best parts about it is laser projection. For instance, if you ask for a language translation and can’t understand much from the speaker, then the device can also project the same message on your hand to make it easier for you to understand.

There is also a quick way to change projected windows by just opening and closing the hand. In short, whether delivering responses audibly or projecting text and images onto the user’s hand, the Pin offers a futuristic and great experience that feels straight out of science fiction.

One just needs to double tap on the touch-enabled device to click photos or long press on it to trigger the AI to get things done. It is wireless and comes with a charging case similar to what we see for earbuds. The company claims that it can offer up to 4-5 hours of battery life with normal usage if you are not using a laser a lot for projection. The good thing is that when you use the device’s tiny camera, a green light also turns on to indicate you when the camera is turned on.

It is currently unknown when this will arrive in countries like India, but people will be able to buy the Humane AI Pin from the US market and its shipping will start from April this year.
