Song Kang had previously confirmed that he will enlist for the mandatory military service this year and his agency has shared details about the same today. The ‘Love Alarm’ actor will enlist privately on Tuesday, April 2.
Namoo Actors released a statement about the same, which read, “We express deep gratitude to the fans who always show love for actor Song Kang, and this is a notice regarding Song Kang’s enlistment. Song Kang will be enlisting as an active duty soldier of the [Republic of Korea] Army on Tuesday, April 2.”
Discouraging fans from thronging the enlistment site, the statement further read, “There will be no official events held when he enters the recruit training center, and he will be enlisting privately to prevent safety accidents due to congestion on site, so we ask for your understanding. We ask for the warm love and support of many people in order for Song Kang to return in good health with greater maturity after diligently completing his mandatory service. Thank you.”
Song Kang was last seen in ‘My Demon’, wherein he romanced Kim Yoo-jung. Song Kang’s upcoming series ‘Sweet Home’ season 3 will be released while he fulfills his duties as a soldier. He wrapped the shooting of this supernatural zombie drama last year and the ‘Sweet Home 3’ is being prepped for release during summer of 2024.
