Smriti Mandhana and Shreyanka Patil are amongst the 15 Indians who have registered for the Hundred Women’s draft for the 2024 edition.
Both Shreyanka and Mandhana are currently plying their trade for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024. Shreyanka also happens to be the only Indian to have played in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) after she represented Guyana Amazon Warriors.
Mandhana, on the other hand, already has the experience of playing in The Hundred after she was a part of Southern Brave. Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh were part of the London Spirit in the previous seasons and they have registered for the draft as well.
Mandhana and Shreyanka’s teammate in RCB, Renuka Singh Thakur, is also a part of the draft. Jemimah Rodrigues played for the Northern Superchargers, and she will have a chance to get picked up as well.
All of Mandhana, Rodrigues, Deepti, Shreyanka, Richa and Renuka have a reserve price in the drafts.
The Indians with no reserve prices are Kiran Navgire, Veda Krishnamurthy, Mona Meshram, Shikha Pandey, Sneh Rana, Meghana Sabbineni, Meghna Singh, Radha Yadav and Yastika Bhatia.
Overall, 127 international cricketers and 122 domestic players registered their names for the draft, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 20.
A women’s team in The Hundred will need a minimum of 13 players in the squad. The draft order will be the “reverse of the final standings from 2023”.
