Actress Shefali Shah, who is best known for her roles in shows like ‘Delhi Crime‘, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do‘, among others, was earlier married to fellow actor Harsh Chhaya. They had tied the knot in 1994 however, after six years of marriage the former-couple called it quits. Now, years later, Harsh opened up about his divorce in an interview with Siddharth Kanan, wherein the actor said that it is a “closed chapter” in his life now.
“The separation was pretty tough…Itni puraani kahani hai. Itna samay beet gaya hai…bees pachees saal ho gaye hain. For me, it is a closed chapter,” Harsh Chhaya told Siddharth Kanan. He also revealed that he isn’t friends with Shefali and that they don’t talk to each other. “No, we are not friends. I don’t have an issue talking to her, so if we bump into each other, I wouldn’t get uncomfortable,” Harsh further added. Harsh Chhaya later married Suneeta Gupta, who is a Bengali actress, in 2003.
Harsh Chhaya was born on December 2, 1966, and he studied at Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia, where he pursued Mass Communication at the university’s A.J.K. Mass Communication Research Centre, as per Wikipedia.
Meanwhile, Shefali too has spoken about her divorce in an earlier interview. Talking about it, Shefali had once told Pinkvilla, “I have given a long long chunk of life to that relationship. I worked very hard and I used to believe that marriages are happily ever after until you realise okay, it’s a notion. That’s not necessarily how things work in life. It wasn’t that the whole phase wasn’t making me richer or happier, sane or person… And after a point of time, you just realise what is better for you, which is better for everyone around. So, not for a second did I think it was because I gave it a lot of time and everything I had in me. And it didn’t work out, it didn’t work out. It’s just too bad. Why do people make hue and cry about it.”
Since then, Shefali is married to filmmaker Vipul Shah for over 20 years now and they have two sons together named Aryaman and Maurya.
