Overthinking is the coping mechanism of the body in dealing with difficult situations and difficult emotions. “We all overthink. It’s a coping mechanism and part of being human. The key thing to understand is thoughts are not truths— and not reality. The more you accept overthinking and do difficult things anyway the more the ego mind controls your behavior,” wrote Psychologist Nicole LePera.
