NEW DELHI: India further solidified their position on top of the World Test Championship (WTC) rankings with a dominant innings and 64-run win in Dharamsala, sealing a resounding 4-1 series win over England.
This impressive victory propelled India’s percentage points from 64.58 to 68.51, achieved through their participation in nine matches during the ongoing WTC cycle.Their record includes six wins, two losses, and one draw.
Celebrating the series triumph, India captain Rohit Sharma shared a photo on his social media, featuring Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Sarfaraz Khan, and Dhruv Jurel, acknowledging the valuable contributions of these promising young talents to the team’s success.
“Garden mein ghoomne wale bande,” Rohit’s post read.

The “garden mein ghoomne wale bande” here refers to Rohit’s comments which he made during the Vizag Test. He was heard saying in the stump mic: “Koi bhi garden mein ghumega, *.”
In Rohit’s post, India’s T20 sensation Suryakumar Yadav singled out Yashasvi and Shubman from the four players featured.
Responding promptly, former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh clarified in a comment that the post specifically referred to Shubman.

Skipper Rohit himself had an excellent series with the bat, scoring 400 runs in 5 matches in the series at an average of 44.44. He also smashed two centuries and one fifty in the series.
