NEW DELHI: Congress leader Randeep Surjewala clarified his remarks regarding BJP MP Hema Malini after facing criticism from Bharatiya Janata Party leaders. Surjewala stated that he did not intend to insult or offend the actor-politician. The clarification came in response to an undated video shared by BJP’s IT department head Amit Malviya, accusing Surjewala of making objectionable comments about Hema Malini.
“We also respect Hema Malini a lot because she is married to Dharmendra ji and is our daughter-in-law,” the Congress leader added.He emphasized that the video circulated by the BJP was edited and distorted to divert attention from the Modi government’s policies and actions that impact the youth, farmers, and the underprivileged.
On Congress leader Randeep Surjewala’s statement on her, BJP MP Hema Malini, said on Thursday “It is his work, they are in opposition. They will not speak well about it, we will do a counter attack. The people of Mathura are with me and they are all very happy. I have the blessing of PM Modi.”
