NEW DELHI: Russia on Sunday ordered increased firepower and training for its navy to combat Ukrainian drones attacking “from the air and by uncrewed boats”
“There must be training for personnel every day. Training on how to repel attacks from the air and by uncrewed boats,” defence minister Sergei Shoigu said.
Shoigu has “ordered the installation of additional firepower, large-calibre machine gun systems to defeat enemy drones,” the official statement said.
The Black Sea, a key battleground, has witnessed multiple Ukrainian strikes, leading to the relocation of Russian military vessels. Ukraine claimed to have destroyed over two dozen Russian ships, showcasing its military achievements in the region.
Recently, Ukrainian military intelligence released a video showing an attack on a Russian patrol ship by a naval drone, causing a significant explosion. The conflict in the Black Sea continues to escalate, with both sides engaged in strategic moves to gain an upper hand.
