Ajay Devgn and Priyamani starrer Maidaan, which hit the screens yesterday, has opened to positive reviews across the nation. Legendary writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar watched the film and showered praises for the including and lauded cast and crew for their phenomenal work.

Taking to X, (previously known as Twitter), Akhtar wrote, “I watched “ maidan “ It is a true story that will make every Indian proud of our certain national achievements that unfortunately most of us don’t know about . A must watch . Congratulations to producer Boney kapur , director Amit Sharma and to Ajay Devgan who has given a mind blowing performance .”

Directed by Amit Sharma of Badhaai Ho fame, the film also features Priyamani and Gajraj Rao in prominent roles. It clashed with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan at the box office.
