NEW DELHI: Odisha’s ruling Biju Janta Dal (BJD) has lost yet another prominent member with former MLA Priyadarshi Mishra resigning from the party on Saturday. There are reports that the son-in-law of former Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patasani Mishra may join BJP.
In the recent past, several BJD leaders have quit the party for the BJP. Among those who resigned was close relative of BJD organising secretary PP Das and popular Odia actor Arindam Roy who resigned last week and joined BJP.”The BJD is now saturated. There is no future in it as the party is overcrowded. One can hardly find opportunity to serve the people for which I quit the party,” Roy told reporters after joining the saffron party.
