NEW DELHI: Cyrus Mistry’s sons, Firoz and Zahan, have emerged as the wealthiest billionaires under 30, as reported by Forbes. According to the latest Forbes Billionaires List for 2024, the top 25 youngest billionaires globally collectively hold a wealth of $110 billion.
Zahan and Firoz Mistry, the sons of the late former chairman of Tata Sons, Cyrus Mistry, lead the list of young Indian billionaires under 30.Aged 25 and 27, respectively, their combined wealth amounts to $9.8 billion ($4.9 billion each), inherited following their father’s demise in a car accident in 2022. Both residing in Mumbai despite holding Irish citizenship, they inherited a portion of the family’s 18.4% stake in Tata Sons.
Firoz Mistry, who is the elder of the two brothers and pursued his education at the University of Warwick, also inherited an 18.4% stake in Tata Sons after his father’s demise. He holds a 25% stake in Shapoorji Pallonji Group and is involved in initiatives to raise capital by listing Afcons Infrastructure, a privately held construction and engineering firm.
Zahan Mistry, who has pursued his education at Yale University, like his broether holds a 25% stake in the Mumbai-based construction conglomerate Shapoorji Pallonji Group, chaired by his uncle, Shapoor Mistry, Zahan is actively engaged in the family business.
This year, India witnessed the addition of 25 new billionaires, elevating the total count to 200 billionaires, a surge from 169 recorded last year, as per the latest Forbes World’s Billionaires List 2024. India now ranks third globally, boasting a record number of billionaires.
