NEW DELHI: Congress has finalised names on 12 Lok Sabha seats for Maharashtra, with Praniti Shinde likely to contest from Solapur, a former turf of her father and veteran party leader Sushil Kumar Shinde, while Sahu Maharaj is the expected candidate from Kolhapur.
Congress is also nudging leader of opposition Vijay Waddetiwar to contest from Chandrapur, but he is in favour of his daughter and youth leader Shivani being given a chance from the constituency instead.
Cong finalises most candidates for Gujarat, list likely to be out today

Congress Election Committee deliberated on candidates for Gujarat and Rajasthan on Wednesday. In Rajasthan, sources said the party has finalised Sunil Sharma from Jaipur city, but a few key seats have been put in pending for further discussions.

While MLA Murarilal Meena is the frontrunner from Dausa, there is some uncertainty because of his health issues. The party is likely to give the Sikar seat to CPM, while Kuldeep Indora has been finalised from Ganganagar. Sources said there is suspense on Nagaur, as the party does not have a good candidate in the district. It was said the party is again looking at Hanuman Beniwal, RLP leader, for a tie-up, and possibly persuade him to contest himself.

Congress has finalised most candidates for Gujarat. Sources said list may be released on Wednesday night or on Thursday.
