At his son’s pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani said that Anant reminded him of his father, Dhirubhai. He heaped praise on Anant, who is the soon-to-be-groom, and drew parallels between his father and son’s “nothing is impossible attitude”.

Mukesh Ambani was addressing his distinguished guests at Anant and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding bash in Gujarat. On the occasion, the industrialist took a moment to appreciate the couple and their bond. He also explained why Anant resembles his late grandfather, who was an eminent businessman who founded Reliance Industries in the late 1950s. Dhirubhai Ambani passed away in July 2002.

“Anant in Sanskrit means ‘which has no end’, it means infinite. I see infinite potential in Anant. Whenever I see Anant, I see my father Dhirubhai in him. His same ‘can do, will do and nothing is impossible’ attitude. And in Radhika, he has found an ideal life partner. She is a reservoir of immense creative energy, she is a quiet fountain of love and care,” Mukesh Ambani said.

“Anant and Radhika, Radhika and Anant — yeh toh rab je bana di jodi hai (a match made in heaven),” he said.

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding jamboree was a starry affair, including Shah Rukh Khan and his family, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir, Arjun Kapoor, ‘Jawan’ director Atlee and his family. For stellar performances, the Ambanis and the Merchants invited global sensation Rihanna and renowned illusionist David Blaine.
