MUMBAI: All India Mahila Empowerment Party (Jammu & Kashmir wing) has said that the party will contest Lok Sabha elections on all five seats in J&K.
Addressing a press conference recently, AIMEP president Nowhera Shaik said that her party is set to contest from all five constituencies in Jammu & Kashmir in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. “The party is committed to field deserving candidates who embody the vision and values of AIMEP and are dedicated to the welfare and progress of the region,” she said.
She added that AIMEP’s electoral strategy is focused on addressing the immediate needs of the people of Jammu and Kashmir while laying the groundwork for long-term development. The party’s manifesto includes plans to enhance the region’s educational framework, bolster healthcare services, and revitalize the economy through strategic investments in key sectors. “Our focus is on winning the trust of the people. We are here to serve and to ensure that the voices of Jammu & Kashmir are heard,” she added.
Prof MA Najeeb, the state working president of AIMEP (J&K), enthusiastically declared:“We are poised to make a significant impact in the Lok Sabha elections. Our candidates are chosen for their integrity, dedication, and ability to serve the people of Jammu & Kashmir with utmost commitment.”
Shaik added that the core issues faced by the residents of Jammu and Kashmir will be addressed. “Our vision for Kashmir is about political empowerment, social and economic rejuvenation,” Dr. Shaik stated.
With a special emphasis on youth and women, the AIMEP aims to empower these vital segments of society by creating opportunities for education, entrepreneurship, and employment.
Shaik promised to enhance job prospects for the youth through significant investments in education and skill development. “We will ensure that every young person in Jammu and Kashmir has access to quality education and employment opportunities,” she affirmed. She assured to work towards a prosperous Jammu and Kashmir where every citizen can lead a life of dignity.
The AIMEP also pledged to work on the textile sector, which is a significant part of the local economy, by providing support to weavers and artisans to modernize their craft and expand their market reach. “Empowering the women of Kashmir is at the heart of our agenda,” Dr. Shaik added, promising to introduce programs that would support women entrepreneurs and professionals.
The AIMEP has outlined plans to improve access to medical facilities and to launch health awareness programs that cater to the needs of remote and rural communities. The party recognizes the importance of a healthy population as the cornerstone of a thriving society.
