Just days after Niger’s military government scrapped a military cooperation deal with the United States of America, the African nation’s leader had a phone conversation with the President of Russia. Abdourahamane Tchiani and Vladimir Putin discussed defence and counter-terrorism cooperation. In 2023, Niger had kicked out French troops after differences erupted with Emmanuel Macron’s government over the coup which put Tchiani in the throne. Watch the full video for more.
