The thrilling nail-biter between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore witnessed a women-led star-studded lineup cheering for the women cricketers at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on March 10, Sunday.

Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan, India’s legendary boxer MC Mary Kom, designer Masaba Gupta, journalist Faye D’Souza and entrepreneur Vineeta Singh attended the WPL 2024 match. Women-power was on full display as the leading ladies in their respective industries set up a great example of where women supported women.

Mary Kom took to Instagram to express her joy over attending a cracker of a match and acknowledged the crowd for turning up in huge numbers. Mary Kom posted snippets from the match, and it was a great spectacle where the women-leaders were supporting star women cricketers. DC vs RCB: Highlights

WHAT HAPPENED IN THE WPL 2024 MATCH?

A packed Arun Jaitley Stadium witnessed DC pulling off a nervy win over Bangalore by just 1 run. With this emphatic win, Delhi Capitals have become the 2nd team after the Mumbai Indians to qualify for the WPL 2024 play-offs. After winning the toss, Delhi Capitals opted to bat first and openers, Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning provided Capitals a flying start. However, it was Jemimah Rodrigues (58) and Alex Capsey’s (48) 97-run stand that powered Delhi to a competitive total of 181 runs.

RCB slipped early in the chase with the early wicket of skipper Smriti Mandhana. Ellyse Perry and Sophie Molineux produced a counter-attacking partnership of 87 runs from 57 deliveries. However, Delhi Capitals kept chipping away with timely wickets until Sophie Devine began her onslaught as she went on to score 26 off 16 runs.

Just when RCB’s hopes started vanishing with 17 runs needed off the last over. Richa Ghosh got the equation to 2 needed off the last ball with a six. However, it was a heart-break for RCB, who got so close yet so far from the win as Richa was run-out on the last ball. The battle for the last play-off berth will be between RCB and the UP Warriorz with the Gujarat Giants retaining an outside chance.
