India’s young brigade seemed to be ‘chilling’ in Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamsala ahead of the 5th Test against England. Dhruv Jurel, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal posed for a picture in front of the picturesque landscape.
The Indian batting trio had their hoodies, caps and warm sweaters on as Jurel shared the picture on his Instagram story. The weather looked chilly as the sky was covered with dark clouds with hills in the backdrop. Ahead of the final Test, the players seem to be soaking in the scenic beauty of Dharamsala.
While Padikkal hasn’t made his Test debut yet, he was retained in the updated squad for the 5th Test. Meanwhile, Jurel and Jaiswal have emerged as the standout performers in the series. Jaiswal leads the run-scoring charts with 655 runs in 4 matches. The 22-year-old has scored 2 consecutive double centuries and 2 fifty-plus scores in the series so far. Jurel, playing only his 2nd international match, was awarded the player of the match for his gritty 90-run knock during the 4th Test in Ranchi.
WHEN DID INDIAN TEAM ARRIVE IN DHARAMSALA?
India and the England team arrived in Dharamshala on March 3, Sunday before the 5th Test. The picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium will host the last Test as the series is expected to end on a beautiful note. After playing the first 4 matches in warmer conditions, the players would take the field in cold conditions of the northern region of India.
The Indian team’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, didn’t arrive with the team as he went to Jamnagar to attend the pre-wedding bash of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. Rohit and some other players will be expected to arrive by Monday and Tuesday. India lead the 5-match series 3-1 against England and would look to end the series on a high by winning the last Test match.
India’s updated squad for the 5th Test: Rohit Sharma (C), Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), KS Bharat (WK), Devdutt Padikkal, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep.
